The genus Aphthovirus consists of four species Aphthovirus bogeli, Aphthovirus reedi, Aphthovirus burrowsi and Aphthovirus vesiculae. Thus all three bovine rhinoviruses serotypes (previously classified as tentative members of the now defunct genus Rhinovirus) are now classified in the genus Aphthovirus.
