The species Sakobuvirus aportufeli
(formerly named Sakobuvirus A) contains a single genotype,
sakobuvirus A1.
Sakobuviruses have been found in cats (Ng et al., 2014; Di Profio et al., 2023),
wild boar (Liu, unpub.) and badgers (Palombieri et al., 2022; Pankovics et al., 2025). Genome
