The species Parechovirus C
contains Sebokele virus 1 (SEBV-1), a virus
isolated from rodents (Joffret et al.,
2013). SEBV-1 was originally isolated in 1972 from the crushed
organs of Hylomyscus sp. (African wood mice) collected in
Botambi, Central African Republic (Digoutte, 1978; Digoutte &
Germain, 1985; El Mekki et
al., 1981; Zeller et al., 1989).
