Shanbavirus A is a new species in the genus Shanbavirus.

The partial sequence of Rhinolophus affinis picornavirus 1 was found in the Intermediate Horseshoe Bat (Rhinolophus affinis) (Wu et al., 2012). The complete (or almost complete) genome sequence of a related virus, Miniopterus fuliginosus picornavirus 1 (MfPV-1), has been found in an Eastern bent-wing bat (Miniopterus fuliginosus) (Wu et al., unpub.).
