  Passerivirus is a picornavirus genus containing two species Passerivirus A and Passerivirus B. The name was changed in July 2013 from "Saapivirus" at the request of the ICTV Executive Committee.

The 3B (VPg) genome region of passerivirus A1 is predicted to be 126 nt (42 aa) long. This is unusually long and comparison of the aa sequence suggests the possibility that 2 VPgs are encoded, the second being longer than the first:

Similarly waxbill passerivirus (Passerivirus B) has a long VPg with the possibility that it occurs as two in-tandem VPgs:
