All prototypes were isolated from stools CV-21/Coe (throat washings); and CV-24/EH 24/70 (conjunctival scrapings).
V = variant
AHC = acute haemorrhagic conjunctivitis
The former serotype CVA15 has been reclassified as a strain of CVA11 and similarly CVA18 is now belongs to CVA13.
